ABOUT MEADOW RUN

Meadow Run proprietor Stacy Totten combines a unique and successful training philosophy with a life-long love of animals. While growing up in Dayton, Stacy gathered valuable knowledge and experience by participating in a variety of animal-related activities such as the Dayton Museum of Natural History’s “Raise and Release” program for wild animals.

She combined her love of horses and dogs by acting as "Kennel Maid” for the Miami Valley Hunt where her responsibilities included the care, breeding and training of 40 English foxhounds. During this same period she also managed the boarding facilities of Dayton’s Old Stage Kennel and worked as a veterinary assistant at Miami Valley Animal Hospital.

After graduating from Ohio University in 1984, Stacy began a career in veterinary pharmaceutical sales, a position which included introducing new drugs and procedures to veterinarians in the Northern Ohio area.

Stacy currently competes in the sport of nosework/scentwork, and is competing successfully at the upper levels, with her 2 dogs, Dash & Stella. She teaches classes and private lessons in scent work, and is a certified C-WAGS Scent Work Judge. She is very excited about this fascinating sport.

In December 2014, Stacy graduated from the Karen Pryor Academy. During this extensive program, Stacy discovered the joy of clicker training and has incorporated it into her training programs. Her clicker trained German Shorthair "Stella", and Jack Russell "Dash", will proudly show off their many skills. On a tour of the farm, you will also meet a horse, a goat and a sheep, who also respond to this wonderful style of training!

Stacy is actively involved with various rescue dog groups who send her their "unadoptable" problem children for evaluation and behavior modification.

For leisure, she beagles with the Chagrin Valley Beagles, gardens, hikes, and attends nosework workshops.
